The DataGravity leadership team brings a track record of innovation and success in storage technology. Its co-founders, Paula Long and John Joseph were previously founder and executive leader respectively at EqualLogic, a notably successful storage innovator later acquired by Dell. Other DataGravity team leaders are experts with deep experience in storage, virtualization, data management and analytics. As vital supporting players, the DataGravity Board of Directors and investors represent some of the smartest visionaries in technology today.

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Paula brings over 30 years of experience in high-tech innovation to DataGravity. Prior to DataGravity, she served as vice president of product development at Heartland Robotics. In 2001 Paula co-founded storage provider EqualLogic, acquired by Dell for $1.4 billion in 2008. She remained at Dell as vice president of storage until 2010. Prior to EqualLogic, she served in engineering management positions at Allaire Corporation and oversaw all aspects of the ClusterCATS product line while at Bright Tiger Technologies.
Paula’s executive and technical leadership has been extensively recognized, including the New Hampshire High Tech Council Entrepreneur of the Year award, the Ernst & Young 2008 Northeast Regional “Entrepreneur of the Year” and a national finalist for the same award. She is a graduate of Westfield State College.
President and Co-Founder
With over 30 years of experience applying a customer-focused approach to computer design engineering, product management and go-to-market strategy, John brings deep enterprise and mid-market expertise to DataGravity.
John previously served as vice president of marketing and product management at EqualLogic, leading these functions from the company's initial launch through the successful acquisition by Dell in 2008. He subsequently served as vice president of enterprise solutions, marketing at Dell for three years after the acquisition. Before joining EqualLogic, John held product design and leadership roles at Digital Equipment Corporation and was responsible for all marketing activities for enterprise storage at Maxtor and Quantum. He is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Clark University.
John is a frequent speaker at technology and entrepreneurship events.
Chief Technology Officer
With more than 20 years in operations and leadership roles with growth companies, David serves as chief technology officer of DataGravity, responsible for leading the technical strategic vision for the company while guiding our product management teams and research and development efforts to better serve the needs of organizations looking for more from their data storage.
Prior to becoming CTO, David served as vice president of worldwide field operations at DataGravity. Previously, David was a member of the senior leadership team at Veeam Software, a leading data protection software provider for virtualized and cloud environments.
David also served as CTO and vp of professional services for systems integrator Hipskind TSG. He also served as CTO for Kane County, Ill., and has held technology leadership roles with various organizations. A graduate of DeVry University, he is a frequent speaker at top tier technology shows and is a recognized expert in virtualization.
Chief Information Security Officer
With over 15 years of data security experience in various roles inside organizations as well as advising them, Andrew serves as the chief information security officer at DataGravity. He is responsible for the development and delivery of the company’s comprehensive data security strategy.
Prior to DataGravity, Andrew was the director of research at OpenDNS (acquired by Cisco) and the director of applied security research and chief evangelist at CloudPassage. He also previously served as a senior security analyst for 451 Research’s enterprise security practice (ESP). Andrew draws on his data security expertise to share commentary and thought leadership about the industry, having published a series of playbooks, guides and articles in trade publications. His thought leadership and security expertise have been recognized by the SANS Institute, IT Knowledge Exchange, CEOWorld, as well as other organizations.
Vice President of Hardware and Operations
Paul brings 25 years of experience in leadership, hardware engineering and manufacturing operations for high-growth companies to his role as vice president of hardware and operations at DataGravity. He is responsible for defining and implementing the company’s hardware platform strategy, managing its supply chain and driving its worldwide product fulfillment model.
Prior to joining DataGravity, Paul was vice president of hardware and operations at Covergence, Inc., and continued to serve as an operations consultant through the company’s acquisition by Acme Packet, which has since become part of Oracle. Prior to Covergence, Paul was co-founder and director of hardware at Tiburon Networks, and held various hardware engineering leadership positions at Aptis Communications and Shiva Corporation.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic engineering technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
